Finally set up my iPhone to backup my photo app automatically. That went amazing. I don't get the notifactions that my iCloud is needing to be backed up andmore accurate at my iCloud too! Now I know where it all is. I'll add photos but it came as described. Sleek and Black

It Does What it Says
I definitely needed a device like this to help me clean out and organize the photos/videos in my phone and laptop. It gets the job done.

Setup was super simple. I love that I’m able to easily back up the photos on my phone without third party cloud storage. It is easy to use and the instructions on the app are very clear.
Things just didn't work as expected
I thought this may be the setup I was looking for...I wanted to be able to save my little 30 second 1440P HDR game clips to a drive and easily be able to share them with a couple of my buddies that I game with.Problem:1. Sharing isn't that easy, you can't just watch your video and click share and have a link. The app wants you to email access to people. I tried sending a test email and it never showed up (not even in junk)2. The videos I record are 1440p HDR and the player in the app does not play the HDR content back correctly (video is washed out and dull) the same video looks fine on iCloud playback or on Gdrive playback.So basically what I bought this for doesn't work...
OUTSTANDING product, exceeded my expectations!
I pay for two subscription services for cloud drive, but wanted to have my own. The Amber X made that possible with a reasonable price - but, most surprising - a super-easy setup.I was amazed at how simple the setup was, even though I overthought a couple of things and made it harder on myself. I highly recommend this exceptional solution to being able to access my files from anywhere.

Really great entry level NAS
Out of the box, this device just works - I wouldn’t say it’s easy enough for your mom to use, but if you know what an ip address is you can probably figure this thing out. It automatically creates web access + smb access, and sets up a secure username and password for you that is shared across both places.
You can also choose to encrypt the disk when you first set it up, if you are worried about the device itself getting stolen with sensitive data.
In a recent update they have unlocked the ability to use this as a Home Assistant server and a Plex server. I have set up the Plex side of that, and it works perfectly- can handle multiple direct play streams to my Apple TV, iPad, and computer at the same time. Not a huge surprise, since the hardware in here is more powerful that Synologys, WD, Qnaps, etc. that are twice the price.
I don’t personally use this for photo backup, but the app makes it easy enough to set that up.
All in all, if you want an easy to maintain NAS that that’s relatively affordable - and you don’t need many TBs of redundant data (i.e. if the built in 512GB + an external drive is enough for you) then this is hard to beat.
