Such a useful, convenient device! I take a lot of photos and I hate to delete any of them. This is the perfect device for people like myself. You can even sort your pictures/videos by date, location, camera, people, or even scene! It’s so easy to find pictures I am looking for and easy to transfer media!

I almost didn’t get this because some reviewers said it only works for photos and video. But after 5 minutes of research I found the supported file list and bought it. Glad I did!Pros: saves and holds all of the files on all of my devices, some of which are nearly full. I can access, recall, organize, and manage every file FROM ANYWHERE - movies, music, documents, photos, etc. I attached a 4TB hard drive and have full access to this, and can move anything from or to it. I can auto download files from my device daily.Cons: it took about 15 minutes to figure out how to access the external hard drive. Still a few things to learn on file management, buts it’s already doing what I bought it forBottom line: work’s wonderfully!

overall, net positive product and worthwhile
in today’s environment, privacy and ownership and control over my data is top-of-mind. i realized recently that facebook / instagram own much of my memories and photos. i purchased amber as my own time capsule keepsake. i have cloud storage but given the ongoing modern warfare, i wanted a true backup system. i’ve uploaded all of my photos from high school and college to amber x. there were definitely hiccups in setup and in updating the app subsequently, but overall, it’s worth it and it’s only gotten better. i would recommend this product.
Good product but Uses a lot of system data
I have been using the product everyday since a month now.When I installed this on and using it on iPad, iPhone - the app does something coz of which system data usage increases exponentially. I need to offload n delete app n reinstall to get back device storage.Ps- my devices are all updates to latest iOS , also uses all good recommendation to save storage .I can use cloud with my existing hard disk - definately a plus point given that this cloud has only 512 gb storage .Product support is poor - I left chat messages n emails but no response.

Easy to setup, no more google cloud photo backup and worry about 15GB data limit, cleanup. Amber X app fine, also connected 1TB HDD. Happy with purchase so far 😊
Really great entry level NAS
Out of the box, this device just works - I wouldn’t say it’s easy enough for your mom to use, but if you know what an ip address is you can probably figure this thing out. It automatically creates web access + smb access, and sets up a secure username and password for you that is shared across both places.
You can also choose to encrypt the disk when you first set it up, if you are worried about the device itself getting stolen with sensitive data.
In a recent update they have unlocked the ability to use this as a Home Assistant server and a Plex server. I have set up the Plex side of that, and it works perfectly- can handle multiple direct play streams to my Apple TV, iPad, and computer at the same time. Not a huge surprise, since the hardware in here is more powerful that Synologys, WD, Qnaps, etc. that are twice the price.
I don’t personally use this for photo backup, but the app makes it easy enough to set that up.
All in all, if you want an easy to maintain NAS that that’s relatively affordable - and you don’t need many TBs of redundant data (i.e. if the built in 512GB + an external drive is enough for you) then this is hard to beat.
